Sonce, the project lead by Maryana Golovchenko, was recording the project Five Seasons. Together with Cengiz Arslanpay in flutes and electronics. We have been working in some old Ucrainean songs with an open and approach but keeping one feet in the tradition. We are now on the process of mixing. I hope I can present the album soon!
I had the pleasure to play as a guest of Aviv Noam Quartet. First we recorded in Wisseloord studios, and then we could play in the Grachtenfestival. Now the album is out! Don’t doubt in listen to it, and buy a copy to support the artists. Beautiful new music.

May 2020 is the month of the release of the first album of the band lead by Federico Calcagno, Liquid Identities. It is with label autrecords.
It was supposed to be released together with a tour in Italy that was unfortunately cancelled. Here a very nice review by Jazztrail.net.
For a couple of years already, Ig and I meet from time to time just to improvise and talk about music. She used to meet with George as well – for much longer already – so the three of us started having some meetings. During these gatherings, Ab would also join some times, either with clarinet or the shakuhachi. The sound of the shakuhachi with the three strings really stroke me, so together with George, we decided to do a recording.

Lop-Sided string quartet (Sarah Claman, Maya Felixbrodt, and Laura Nygren) participated in the residency of Brian Riordan at STEIM, Amsterdam.
During some sessions, the strings would experiment and improvised with live electronics controlled by Brian himself. From that material, he released 3 albums showing different aspects of this collaboration. At the end of the residency, we performed a live concert at the series concerts “Connector” organized by Steim, and that you can listen here.

This is the fifth album of Discordian Community Ensemble, and also one of its most ambitious productions, involving 5 different compositions that intertwine free improvisation with composition (as usual with this ensemble). Each composition has been designed and conducted by a different composer, some are multimovement works, and all of them make use of different writing techniques in an attempt to arrive at a convincing mix of the undertermined with the determined.
The performers on this recording are also notable for their experience and versatility in the field of free improvisation, some coming from contemporary music, others from free jazz and avant rock.
Mixing different generations of the most active avantgarde musicians from Barcelona, this recording is an interesting view of some of the directions local underground new music is taking at this moment.
