Every year the North Sea Jazz Festival commissions a promising Dutch jazz composer to write a free composition. In 2018, the honour goes to pianist and composer Philipp Rüttgers.
The result is an amazing album, full of colors, crazy rhythms and beautiful melodies. I really like the music (originally recorded by Jörg Brinkmann on cello) , and I had the pleasure to play with them on the So what’s next? festival in Eindhoven. We will play again on April in Utrecht, Amsterdam and Nijmegen.
